Truck hits car, killing woman on Empire Boulevard in Penfield

    Penfield, N.Y. - Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash that led to the death of an Irondequoit woman in Penfield Saturday afternoon.

    Police said a car was traveling on Empire Boulevard near Mario's restaurant around 4:30 pm.

    Officers said the car was trying to turn into a restaurant parking lot when it was hit by a truck traveling westbound.

    The woman in the car's passenger seat, 95-year-old Jean Dietch, died from her injuries.

    The driver, a 66-year-old man from Irondequoit, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

    Police said the 42-year-old truck driver from Rochester was not injured.

    Officers told 13WHAM they do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

    No charges will be filed, according to deputies.
