Popped tire triggers Rt. 104 car accident; two injured

Two females were injured after the car they were in popped a tire then went off-road in Sodus.

Sodus, N.Y. - A popped tire triggered a car to go off-road in Sodus Sunday evening, injuring two people.

Authorities said the car was traveling on Route 104 when a tire popped, forcing the driver to lose control.

Two females in the car suffered non-life threatening injuries.

One of them was ejected. Authorities said at least one of them was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight.

Route 104 was closed for a short time but has since reopened.

According to our news partners with the Times of Wayne County, the driver had a suspended license and was charged with second-degree aggravated unauthorized operation of a motor vehicle.
