VP Supply gives back to Foodlink with big donation
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - A local business made a $20,000 gift to Foodlink on Wednesday.
VP Supply Corporation made the donation just in time for the holiday season. The donation will mean 60,000 meals for families in need.
Employees from VP Supply spent Wednesday morning volunteering at Foodlink, sorting food.
VP Supply usually does a turkey giveaway for the holidays, but felt the donation would make a bigger impact on the community.
Honestly I came and we toured the facility and we made sure we were giving to something that we felt came back to the community and was very beneficial," said Louis Curwin, secretary and treasurer of VP Supply. "Isn't that the true meaning of Thanksgiving?"
Louis' father and partner, who founded VP Supply, started the tradition of giving back 51 years ago. Louis said he has tried to continue that.
