Webster teacher, lacrosse coach dies after 2-year cancer fight
Webster, N.Y. (WHAM) - A beloved science teacher and coach for Webster Thomas has died after a fight with colon cancer.
Chris Barnes was a sixth grade science teacher at Willink Middle School and head coach of the Webster Thomas High School varsity girls lacrosse team.
Barnes had been fighting the disease for two years.
Earlier this week, the Webster Titans Girls Lacrosse team held an alumni lacrosse game as a fundraiser to honor their coach. Barnes helped to start the program in 2003.
Barnes never stopped working - going right up until his surgery.
