Virginia Beach, VA - Wegmans announced it looking to fill 315 part-time positions ahead of the opening of its newest store, in Virginia Beach.

The store will open April 28th. It will be Wegmans' 99th store.

Wegmans announced Thursday that it's beginning to train the positions that have been filled so far.

The store started hiring for 185 full-time jobs in August. There are remaining openings, including positions for cooks and sushi rollers.

The store will employ 500 people in all. Wegmans said 450 of them will be new to the company and hired in the Virginia Beach area.

The 113,000 square-foot store will have a large variety of prepared foods, including The Burger Bar, a casual restaurant counter that serves burgers, fresh salads, sandwiches, kids meals, soup, sides, and beer and wine by the glass.

“The store is taking shape beautifully. With our clock tower now in place, the exterior is nearly complete,” said Mike Coyle, the store manager. “Inside, the floors have just been poured and polished, which allows us to start installing coolers and freezers. It’s transforming daily, and we can’t wait for our customers to see the finished product when we open on April 28.”
