Former doctor who buried body in backyard back behind bars for violating parole
Rochester, N.Y. - Just weeks after being released from prison for burying the body of a Rochester man in his backyard, a former doctor is behind bars again.
William Lewek was booked into Monroe County Jail on January 9th, according to jail records.
What's unclear is what Lewek did to violate his parole.
In May 2015, Lewek was sentenced to 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison for tampering with evidence, in connection to Matthew Straton's death.
In January 2014, Straton's body was found buried in Lewek's backyard on Rowley Street in Rochester.
It was later found that Straton had died, likely but not conclusively, of a drug overdose in Lewek's home in October 2013.
Lewek was not charged in Straton's death.
The former doctor was released from Fishkill Correctional Facility for tampering with evidence on December 21st, 2017.
