Wilt announces candidacy for 25th Congressional District

Rochester, N.Y. – Brighton Town Councilmember Robin Wilt officially announced her bid for the 25th Congressional District seat Monday night.

Wilt, who is running as a Democrat, says she hopes to carry on a progressive legacy left behind by late Congresswoman Louise Slaughter.

Several contenders have already announced their candidacy for the late congresswoman’s seat. New York State Assemblyman Joe Morelle, Rochester City Councilmember Adam McFadden and former TV journalist Rachel Barnhart are expected to run as Democrats. Dr. Jim Maxwell is running for the seat as a Republican.
