Police investigate after Rochester man shot, killed on Flanders Street

Updated on May 1 at 2:35 p.m.: Rochester Police identified the man killed in this shooting as 27-year-old Sherod Hurst.

Hurst is from Rochester.

Investigators said no suspects are in custody yet.


Rochester, N.Y. - One person is dead following a shooting in Rochester Tuesday night.

First responders reported to Flanders Street around 7:20 p.m. for the report of a person shot.

According to Rochester police, officers found the body of a 27-year-old man at the scene. They said he had been shot at least once in the mid-torso.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 423-9300.
