Your Stories: Contractor Complaints
Monroe County, N.Y. - Several homeowners have reached out to 13WHAM with complaints about a local contractor by the name of George Frisch, owner of Dynabuild.
The stories are similar. The contractor appears reputable and legitimate, but after contracts are signed, problems begin.
Jadwiga Howard of Spencerport says a big box retail store recommended Frisch to replace her deck. She signed a contract and paid a $2,000 deposit.
Howard claims Frisch was a no-show. She has filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, attorney general's office and police.
Liliana Marcello says her parents in Spencerport signed a contract with Frisch for a sun room extension in April. Now, more than five months later, the work is incomplete and the family has paid Frisch more than $20,000.
"He seemed reputable. His rating on the BBB website at that time was A. There were no complaints, so they went ahead with it," said Marcello.
Marcello says of the money paid to Frisch, $7,000 was for the windows.
Marcello and her parents just learned Wednesday the window supplier may put a lien on their home because Frisch never paid for the windows.
Currently, Dynabuild Construction Group, Inc. has ten customer complaints on the BBB website.
Frisch said he was not available to meet with 13WHAM Wednesday, but provided this statement: "We are working to resolve these issues with our customers and are working on refunding deposits and settle claims."
