Peterman focused on playoff push as he prepares for first start
There is no denying that this is a tremendous opportunity for Nate Peterman.
A fifth round pick, he impressed quickly in training camp and the preseason, beating out TJ Yates for the backup job to Tyrod Taylor.
Now, after nine games, he's replacing Taylor.
Normally, when a veteran starter is benched for a late-round rookie, it's because the team is out of playoff contention and looking towards the future. That's not the case with these Bills, who at 5-4, would be in the playoffs if they began today.
But since the playoffs don't begin today, there is still work to be done. And coach Sean McDermott believes Peterman gives his team the best shot to do what's necessary and end the 17 year playoff drought.
