Oak Hill to host tournament benefiting injured Vets
For veterans Paul Swain and Steve Ogletree the game of golf is less about reading the greens and more about recovering from combat. Ogletree spent 21 years in the U.S. Army, while Swain served 18 with the British Army. For these veterans some injuries are visible, some are not. But both learned to readjust to civilian life with help from the game of golf.
Swain and Ogletree were in Rochester on Wednesday to preview the course at Oak Hill before the Simpson Cup Tournament this Fall. The Simpson Cup is a Ryder Cup style tournament where teams of 13 injured servicemen from Great Britain and the United States compete and build camaraderie on the golf course.
It's the first time Oak Hill will sponsor the tournament, the event tees off on September 18th.
