Avon to state finals, Victor and Canandaigua seasons end

The Avon Braves are the lone Section V baseball team with a shot at a state title. Avon rode the arm of Maxx Countryman who threw a 2 hit shutout of Lansing to move the Braves to Saturday's state final. Avon will face Ticonderoga in the championship game at 10am Saturday in Binghamton.In Class B, the Victor Blue Devils saw their season come to an end in one inning against Baldwinsville. The Bees lit Victor up for 5 runs in the 4th inning and never looked back in the 7-4 win that ended the Blue Devils season. And in Class A, Canandaigua could not find the answer against Powerhouse Queensbury. The Braves dropped a 3-1 decision to a team that is in it's 3rd state final in the last 4 years
