Rochester, N.Y. – Baseball season in Rochester is right around the corner. The Red Wings are scheduled to play their first game of the season at Frontier Field this Friday.

The team has had a lot of good luck in the past with their season openers. General Manager Dan Mason has been feeling bold, making a “50-degree guarantee” that for the start of the Wings’ season, it will be at least 50 degrees at Frontier Field for the first game.

Tuesday, it was a lot of hats and cold weather gear at Frontier Field as the Red Wings held their first practice of the season.

Friday’s game – scheduled for 6 p.m. – is expected to be cold and rainy, with a chance of snow! But Mason says he’s still hopeful about the start of the season.

If the temperature doesn’t reach 50 degrees, each ticket can be exchanged for any other home game in April or May.
