It was a battle of two rehabbing MLB stars both making their first starts with their respective teams. Twins ace Ervin Santana took the mound for the Wings, and slugging catcher Gary Sanchez picked up a bat for Scranton.
They faced off three times, with Santana striking out Sanchez twice. But in the fourth inning, Sanchez started the scoring with a monster home run over the left field wall.
Sanchez finished 1-3, while Santana struck out 7 in 5.2 innings, allowing three earned runs. Most importantly for the Red Wings, they managed just four hits for the second straight night, falling to Scranton 3-1.
