SU's tournament run ends in loss to Duke

Duke Beats SU

The Syracuse Orange had the look of another Jim Boehim team making an improbable run to a Final 4. One of the final team's selected to the tournament, SU won in Dayton, then swept a pair of games in Detroit to set up a matchup with ACC power Duke. Despite a great effort, the Orange fell short, losing 69-65 to the Blue Devils.

The game was the highest scoring of any Syracuse tournament game, but defense and poor shooting still dominated. The two teams combined to go 9-39 from the 3-point line. The Orange got an excellent game out of Tyus Battle, who had 19 . Oshae Brisett did not shoot a high percetage, but he chipped in 15 and Marek Dolezaj helped out with 13. Duke was led by All-American Marvin BagleyIII who led all scorers with 22 points.

Sytracuse finishes the season 23-14 and Duke goes on to meet top seed Kansas for a spot in the Final 4.
