Karen Edwards

Karen Edwards joins the 13WHAM ABC and Fox Rochester team as the evening breaking news anchor. An award-winning journalist with more than a decade of experience, Karen is excited to return to Rochester, a place she calls her second home.

Karen first moved to Rochester in 2019 as an anchor for Spectrum News before moving to Albany, where she was able to continue sharing news stories to the Rochester community and across New York state.

Before that, Karen spent four years in Louisiana, in Monroe and then Shreveport, where she produced and anchored four hours of morning news, and later also served as managing editor. She started her on-air career at WRDW in Augusta, Georgia, as an anchor/reporter.

A military child, Karen moved several times throughout her childhood before her father retired in metro Atlanta after serving 20 years in the Navy. She now considers Kennesaw, Georgia, home and received her bachelor’s degree in communication and broadcast journalism from Kennesaw State University.

Karen is excited to help give you context on the big, breaking and developing stories of the day. A self-proclaimed nerd, in her spare time Karen is often video gaming, watching anime or playing Dungeons and Dragons.
